Ms Behle has been teaching stained glass techniques in private classes and continuing education programs in Massachusetts and New York since the mid-1970s. The classes have included countless original designs in lead-glazing as well as copper foil methods, and the skill level has ranged from beginner through advanced students. The glass painting workshops are comprehensive in traditional techniques trace and matt painting silver staining, enamels, and multi-medium layered mattwork. Great lessons can be learned from studying old pieces acquired in the course of many restorations and of both European and American windows by master glass painters, and many such pieces are available for study. Courses have been offered and conducted with community groups, scout troops and dens, and learning centers.
It has been our pleasure and privilege to be a part of a studio tour program in Warwick for many years. It originally began as educational and fundraising idea 15 years ago, as part of the community 2000 planning project for Warwick, and has since evolved to be a part of the annual summer arts festival here in Warwick; a celebration of visual, musical and movement arts specific to our community. Selection for the studio tour is juried, and is a self-guided tour of over forty artistsí studios not usually open to the public. We have found it to be rewarding to share what we do with families, classes of school children, fellow artists and people who would not otherwise know of our studio and its work.
